Navigation Elements

The navigation elements are built into the CMS templates. They were designed using website best practices and automatically reflect the taxonomy of the website.

Global Site Navigation

The following global or "main navigation" is persistent across the website. The top-level content drives what is contained on the main navigation. The global navigation also contains a hover, so when a user hovers over a main navigation link with their mouse, a drop-down menu appears with the labels of that sections content.

Note: "Fly-out" navigation deeper than one level down is not supported in the CMS.  This is based on usability best practices.

Sub-Navigation

A consistent style for sub-navigation is also provided. The sub-navigation is included on the left side of the website.  If you are using pages with Automatic Navigation, the structure of the website dynamically builds the navigation.

Note: the navigation displays two levels deep on the page at a time. If the user is browsing a page deeper than the second level, they can get back to higher levels of the site through breadcrumbs.

Breadcrumbs

Breadcrumbs (illustrated below) are a navigation aid used in Web design. They give users a way to keep track of their location within the site and are automatically populated by the CMS.
