What does the CMS do well?
Manages static HTML web content via the UCSD campus-wide templates.
Allows content owners with little or no background in web technologies to create, edit, and publish web pages.
Allows content owners to upload images to their website and link to downloadable files.
Allows website managers to set rules so certain content owners can only publish to a "staging" environment while others can publish to "production".
What the CMS is not designed to do:
The CMS is not a web application development platform.
The CMS does not have a form-building component (it clan link to forms built in other technologies).
The CMS is not a wiki or blog platform.
The CMS is not an event calendaring application or video platform. It can embed calendars and videos hosted on other systems.
